Understanding the hype behind Juju Noda

One of the most highly anticipated motor racing debuts will be that of Juju Noda. But, why is this young Japanese girl being touted as the next big thing? This video looks into the case, as she prepares to make her racing debut in 2020.
Special credit to Douglas Free, who created the following post on Reddit, detailing Noda's career up until this point.

  • 0:48 Do you seriously think that Sophia Flörsch has the talent to drive in F1? Her only successes are two podium places in F4. In Formula 3 she is below average. Even most of the drivers who were judged by many to be too bad for F1 and who are said to only be able to drive as pay drivers in F1 were much better in their youth. e.g. Stroll: Won his debut season in F4 and absolutely dominated his second F3 season Maldonado: won F2 Ericsson: won at least the F3 She may have the talent for F1, but she has never shown it in any way before. The only way I see her in F1 is as a paydriver, but why would anyone pay so much money for her. That's probably what you mean when you say that she doesn't stand a chance due to financial reasons.

  • There’s nothing wrong with a female f1 driver but I kinda feel like she should have to got thought the same ranks as everyone else, like winning national Karting championships, than winning in f4 than moving up to F3 etc, testing an f4 car doesn’t count as winning in an f4 car

He jumped straight from karting into Formula Renault Eurocup, skipping F4 entirely, and on his first ever single-seater race weekend (2 qualys and 2 races), almost did a clean sweep, 1st and 2nd in qualifying, 1st and 1st in the races, and fastest laps in both races.

  • I've always thought as racing gets less physical (other than Gs on the neck) , surely a few women will make it. Despite what the bonkers SJWs would have us believe there are significant differences between men and women other than genitals. Men have faster reactions. Around 40% faster on average. But women can cope with high G load better than men. Obviously men are *significantly* stronger, the average strong women is still around 25% weaker than an average weak man. So again, with racing less strength orientated and more decision making/ problem solving, courage and intellect.. i think with the benefits of power to weight and packaging that a size 6, 5''1" (155cms) girl weighing 39-42kgs would give a team, syrely that's even more of a benefit.

  • It’s annoying that racing is more about who you know and you’re financial situation then actual talent. The girl is clearly very talented but she’s in the position she is because of her father. My uncle worked for McLaren and I could never afford to race so I started racing in Gran Turismo I learnt to drive really well delivering 1:23 times around monza as well as getting reasonably professional times around many other tracks. My uncle tried to get me noticed but they’re not interested in racers who are fast and have proven success it’s usually kids with the money to spend on junior competitions. But now I’m 18 and can do actual FIA Turismo tournaments and have had 4 wins in 6 races someone will actually notice

    • Financial situation bit isn't all that true anymore luckily, yeah money is needed but it's much less if you have huge amount of talent, Kimi, Gilles and Hamilton, heck even Senna, didn't really have that much money, but they became legends.

  • As mentioned a couple of times already, after the frist round in the Danish F4 championship (20th & 21st. of June 2020) Juju Noda performed as follows: - Qualifying: P1 (Best lap: 1:08.190 - 2nd place best lap: 1:08.408) - Heat 1/3: P1 (Best lap: 1:06.633 - 2nd place best lap: 1:07.249) - Heat 2/3: DQ (using unregistered tyres. The tyres are required to be registered in the Danish F4 regulations) - Heat 3/3: P4, started 10th (Best lap: 1:07,704 - 1st place best lap: 1:07,141) No doubt, she is really quick, and the really showed up the boys in the Danish F4 championship! At the moment she is the only female driver in the Danish F4 championship, otherwise we have 2 young female drivers in the Danish F5 championship, which are doing alright, but not as good as Juju. - My credibility: I was Cheif Scrutineer this race weekend.
